Concrete sample testing

Determine the Right Pressure for Effective Concrete Removal

When concrete is discovered inside pipelines, it’s often unclear who left it there and what type of concrete was used. Identifying these factors is crucial for determining liability for cleaning costs and the necessary (water) pressure to remove it. Despite appearances and common names (e.g., concrete, calcium), the pressure required to remove such deposits can vary significantly—from 500 bar (7,250 psi) to 2800 bar (40,000 psi).

Free Sample Testing for Accurate Pressure Assessment

The most reliable way to determine the minimum required pressure to remove a deposit is through testing. At Sewer Robotics, we offer free-of-charge sample tests to answer the critical question: “What pressure does it take to remove this material?”

To ensure accurate results, we replicate the conditions by attaching samples inside a pipe and testing them with a water jet cutting robot.

How to Send Your Samples

Encountering solid obstructions in your pipelines? Want to know what pressure is needed for Sewer Robotics’ water jet to remove the deposit? Send us your samples and let Sewer Robotics provide you with the answers. Contact us at info@sewerrobotics.com to coordinate the shipment of your sample to our test facility.

These concrete samples were first tested at 500 bar (7,250 psi) without result. At 1000 bar (14,500 psi), the water blast begins to cut into the concrete and slowly find its way through. At 1500 bar (22,000 psi), the material is cut into smaller pieces for efficient removal. A 1500 bar (22,000 psi) water jet cutting robot is recommended for the removal of this blockage.
